Recent Floods in Punjab — Condolences, Solidarity & the Importance of Effective Planning
The recent torrential rains and devastating floods in various parts of Punjab have painted a painful picture of destruction. Many precious lives were lost, homes and properties were damaged, and hundreds of families were affected.
The Qurtaba City administration extends heartfelt condolences and sympathy to all the affected families. We pray that Allah (SWT) grants forgiveness to the deceased, complete recovery to the injured, and patience and strength to all those affected. Ameen.
This sorrowful situation compels us to reflect on a deeper truth — that calamities and hardships are often a result of our distance from Allah and His displeasure. The true means of protection lies in seeking forgiveness from our Lord, repenting from disobedience, and sincerely striving for the revival and glory of His Deen.
At the same time, this situation also underscores the vital importance of proactive planning in urban development to deal with natural disasters. The recent torrential rains were particularly intense in Rawalpindi, Chakri, Chakwal, and surrounding areas, where life was severely disrupted and widespread damage occurred.
Alhamdulillah, by the special grace and mercy of Allah (SWT), Qurtaba City remained completely safe despite all challenges. The drainage and water management system proved to be highly effective and efficient. Rainwater was drained in a timely manner, roads, residential homes, commercial buildings, and infrastructure remained fully intact, and transportation throughout the city continued without any interruption.
All of this is a result of Allah’s immense favor and mercy, Who granted us the ability and wisdom to implement a scientific and effective stormwater disposal system in Qurtaba City. The recent rainfall has validated the performance of this system, clearly demonstrating that safety, sustainable development, and residential convenience in Qurtaba City are not just promises — they are a living, functional reality.
On this occasion, we renew our commitment that, In shaa Allah, efforts will continue to ensure not only excellent living in Qurtaba City but also safety, peace of mind, convenience, and a high standard of life for all its residents.
